In a story dealing with heredity, what do you think was the point of Richard's being born with six fingers?

Ben said...: Perhaps it's there to heighten our sense of heredity and genetics (the kids were born without it), to introduce Richard's connections with scientists of the past (Like the minor evolutionist Robert Chambers...), and to say something about his personality (Richard kept his left [hand] in his pocket when lecturing).; 10:53 AM, October 03, 2008
