What did you think?
I found this book challenging at first because the characters seemed kind of a blur to me and trying to sort out what was real and what was imagined was rather tiring. But I enjoyed the book more as it went on, maybe because at some point I was able to conclude that it's ALL fiction or, conversely, that it's ALL truth, and I was more comfortable just being carried along by the narrative.

I also struggled with trying to figure out what was real and what wasn't. And I was at first sort of put off by the notion that a huge portion of the story was from Paul Berlin's imagination. Like the disappointment of "it was all a dream" endings on TV. But like you, I eventually told myself it didn't matter because none of it really happened, it's all fiction.
The characters were a blur to me, too. There were too many of them, and they weren't distinct enough. That's probably more realistic, but it made it hard to follow.
