Covenant Church

What did you think about the inclusion of the Covenant Church at the end of the story? Were you surprised to learn they were Ashley's rescuers?

First reaction: This book has too much going on! It's now my definition of a "sprawling work of fiction." Hehe

I gradually lost interest in the identity of his rescuers because I thought it was just supposed to be an eternal mystery. (I was surprised when the topic came up because I had kind of forgotten about it.) I like the idea that repayment for a long-ago act of kindness can surface in such an unexpected way.
