The church I sing at just started a program to get members to know each other better called "Dinners for six." Six members are to gather at one of their houses for dinner once per month for three months (three different houses). I wonder whether they got the idea from this book.
It's interesting how she goes full circle with eating alone in this last piece. What I understood is that if she's satisfied with the choices and relationships in her life, than dining with six or two, or even alone, all have their rightful place and frequency.
