T is for Turbot

... which I had never heard of before this. I'm happy to hear that it's "esteemed as food." Hehe

I have a pressure cooker, but I've never used it. What am I missing?

Fisher's trout recipe sounds quite good -- except for the gelatin, which I find horrifying.

Mmmmmm. Trout. (I noticed your Dillons had whole trout in the fishcase).

Francis Moore Lappe used a pressure cooker in some recipes in "Diet for a Small Planet," an eco book I really enjoy. It's a quick way to cook beans. I never tried it, though. I was always content to cook things the slow way, and pressure cookers sort of scare me.

Ooh, they scare me, too. My mom always told me when I was a kid that if I touched that little nob thing on top, the pot would explode. Made it seem like a ticking time bomb.

My mom used to use the pressure cooker on Sundays whenever we would have a big noontime dinner. I was afraid of it then, and I probably still am now.

I’m not a big fan of seafood. My favorite seafood as a kid was probably fresh catfish (mostly caught by mom) filleted and fried and slathered with Miracle Whip.

I've never used a pressure cooker nor had turbot, and possibly trout. She leaves me behind in this installment.
