Whose family?

Did it seem to any of you that “Family Furnishings” might be completely non-fiction?

Yes, I have that feeling with a lot of her stories, because she's so fucking brilliant; it's hard to imagine that she could so richly imagine something that didn't happen directly to her.

I thought I read on Wikipedia that her daughter wrote a book about growing up with Alice Munro. That would be an awesome read, especially if the apple fell close to the tree.

I definitely think she must be borrowing from different settings, too, like the vivid description of the floating bridge and also the family farm in "Nettles." There's a sentiment to it, too, that makes it sound like a site of nostalgia.
