What did you think about the Queen's decision to become a writer as well as a reader? What do you think she might write about? Did you feel she would actually produce something or would it turn out like the old servant who had been "working" fruitlessly on his memoirs for decades?

I thought she would actually write something. She was so committed to reading, and she seemed like the type to get done whatever she set out to do. The old servant guy seemed like he was just writing because it seemed like the thing to do, not because he actually enjoyed it or felt moved to do it.
I thought she would, too. She had a very promising devotion to the project — and something that bodes well for a writer: clarity of purpose.
