Christy's selection: "The Phantom Tollbooth"
This fab children's book should be available at your library, and I have a copy on hand that I'll pass along to Kim if the rest of you can check yours out. This would put us on track to read a book about twice a month, which I hope sounds OK.
I'll begin posting discussion points on Monday. Ideas to consider: Whether numbers or letters are better; what letter of the alphabet you'd like to eat, and how would it taste; and casting of the Book Cases in five pivotal character roles: The Duke of Definition, the Earl of Essence, the Minister of Meaning, the Count of Connotation and the Undersecretary of Understanding.

Christy, George and I bought our copies at Borders Tuesday, the day you missed free sushi at Wa!
It was free? I have been obsessing about the Wa since we went there together.
We ordered a bunch of stuff — including the fabulous Sean Connery roll, which was shrimp and mango and made us both sigh with joy — and then the waitress brought us another plate of sushi — like a double spicy baked white fish roll — and said she was told that it was ours. We told her we thought we had everything we ordered, but she left it anyway.
Lest someone get miffed that we are using the book club blog to discuss unrelated matters, I will just say that the spicy scallop roll tastes better than any letter in the alphabet, with the possible exception of "X."
Oooh. I bet an "X" would taste like dark chocolate.
The spicy salmon skin roll is an "O" because it's "Oh, so good!"
Yes! It's really, really, really, really good! Oh man is it good!
Hey, I'm done with the book. I have to wait till Monday to discuss?
Was that an orgasm joke, George? Shame on you!
If you're all on track, I guess we don't have to wait!
I confess I haven't started it yet. But don't feel like you have to wait for me.
Ditto. I have started, but just barely. I should finish it in the next few days, but don't wait on me. I'll catch up.
