Central hero

Ned seems like the moral thread that was holding everything together. As long as he had some power, the center seemed to hold, more or less, but when he is killed it all falls apart. The "game of thrones" begins in earnest with his demise. Is there someone who takes his place, someone who becomes the hero? Tyrion? Or is he too pragmatic vs. principled? Jon Snow?

Good question! I felt the same way about Ned. He was the hero, and mass chaos really begins with his death. I'm not sure I think anyone else really rises to that hero level. No one else ties all the various stories together like Ned did. Jon Snow seems the closest to a hero in terms of his leadership skills, sense of honor, etc. I feel like something important is going to happen with Bran and maybe he will become that hero. Coldhands kept calling him "the one."
